For three days Karachi is suffering from another bout of traffic jams because of an every shady arms fare called IDEAS. No one knows who is selling what to whom. Several parts of the city have been cut off and the normal flow of traffic has been seriously affected. It is as if the people in Karachi are a major security risk. The people are not a security risk it’s the pinheads (none other than the over-rated military) who by exaggerating the importance of the arms deals fare. This only creates even more resentment, because the junta deliberately is alienating the people of Karachi from everything.
Before Karachi was the country’s capital – Islamabad became the capital – but Karachi’s commercial and financial importance over the decades and it become the commercial capital of the country. The junta receives 75 per cent of all taxes from Karachi, yet the city and its citizens do not get return on the taxes paid.
Now the pinheads that instead of finding an appropriate place to have the arms fare have blocked all the major roads have selected Karachi. No one really knows and is the least concerned what goes on in IDEAS, but everyone does have their suspicions that the pinheads are lining their pockets and making themselves very rich from all kinds insane weapons trading.
The pinheads are dong business on behalf of the country, claiming that the country has made lots of money. If that is the case why are the sewerage lines broken and flooding the city roads? Why are there huge ditches, where streets and roads should be? Why are the citizens of Karachi deprived clean drinking water?
IDEAS do nothing but an additional nuisance for the people of Karachi that all. Who cares if it’s for some ‘greater good’? There is too much secrecy regarding what is really going on.
If it is so secret it should take place in the Thar Desert. There will be no need to block roads – because there are no roads and no one from Karachi. Everyone in Karachi asks only one question – when will the army stop ruling the country? The hatred of the army and its policies is intensifying with each passing day – there is no doubt in anyone’s mind that the army will let go without resorting tremendous bloodshed. It will not be the first time this military has killed its own people – because of their need to stay in power at any cost.
