General Zia ordered the closing down of brothels, with no thought as to where those would go. The Red Light Area shifted to respectable residential areas, after they migrated to other countries, which infinite times more free than Pakistan. Along with them all who were persecuted for one reason or another also left. The freedoms denied to people in Pakistan, were found elsewhere. The rulers were given ranches in the US. People found the extreme hypocrisy of the rulers, who were screaming in favour of Islam, were boozing and womanising like there is no tomorrow. Pakistani brothels turned into full fledged businesses and prostitutes found it easier to do business, Learnt how to speak American and haunt nudist beaches. Pakistani gays formed clubs for their gay patrons. Everything that was crushed in Pakistan, but it all exploded elsewhere in the world. This has begun to show.
