Why identity cards fail

The concept of an identity card is flawed for a number of reasons:
The greatest danger of identity card is that it can be used to persecute members of a certain community, religion or sect. Including people belonging to a particular province or a specific area. Identity cards have always been a tool of a totalitarian state. If a person does not have an identity card, he is immediately considered a suspect and is imprisoned. It is an easy way for state officials to extort money from innocent people, when they are stopped and asked to show their identity card and if they do not have one they are made to pay whatever they have in their pockets, or the identity card can taken away and the person whose identity card it is will have to pay to get it back. The entire concept of the requirement of an identity card is an elaborate form of racketeering.

The requirement of identity card turns everyone who does not have one into a criminal. Distrust then becomes mutual; no one feels safe what the state with the information it has. Because it violates the privacy and freedom of the public in general. The state should never have so much power so as to know everything about anyone. Despite assurances, the danger of misusing this information by corrupt state officials will always be there. They can use the information contained in the identity cards to commit all kinds of crimes and pin the blame on any unsuspecting person who has an identity card.

The poor people cannot afford these cards and since they do not have an identity card they will never be able to vote in the elections. This is only proves that the state is not interested in the poor. So a majority of people will automatically be disenfranchised.
The information about addresses contained in the identity card is worthless, because people do not stay in one place for too long, they go from place to another. The reasons for their moving are economic and social. They will live in the nearest place where their new job is and start living in rented premises, which they can afford. The social reasons for moving are because of strong family ties, some people choose to live with the members of their family. Some depend entirely on what their family provides, because they are incapable of finding jobs for a variety of reasons, so they have no choice but to go where their family decides to settle next..

When identity cards are required for all kinds of official work – for instance opening a new bank account, admitting ones child in school, admission of a patient in hospital – anyone who does not have the identity card will not be able to do so. The result is that people will be keeping their money they earn with themselves. Their children will remain uneducated and they will die without receiving any medical treatment. This means that the state wants to deny most of the people in the country of these basic amenities.

There is a line mentioning gender of the person who owns the identity card, one can easily tell from the photograph card what the gender of that person. But there is one problem, some people do choose to have sex change operations or undergo sex change operations because their gender could not be detected at earlier stage. science has made it possible for people to switching from one sex to the other,. Plastic surgery makes it possible for people to change their appearance entirely, so what good is the photograph on the identity card or for that matter knowing the gender at all.

Thieves do not leave receipts for the things they have stolen. No criminal leaves his identity card behind after they have committed a crime, An identity card does not ensure safety, security. It also does not guarantee better and improved functioning of the police force. What good will fingerprinting do when people are robbed at gun point by masked gun men from a distance? The faces of the gangsters are unseen and they are far from the victims, threatening to kill them if they do not hand over their valuable. No one is stupid as to resist.

Given these reasons, it would be better that the government were to stop the expensive exercise of producing identity cards. It is impossible to work and live in an atmosphere of perpetual fear – there should be never be identity cards or any sort identification papers. Unless it is acknowledged that we are living in a police state.

The blessed and the cursed

The only way to get a really grand job is to be in the right place at the right time. Hardwork, talent, ability and intelligence means nothing. All that you learnt at you university or college is worthless. Consider a man working his butt off for years in a company, suddenly finds out the companies boss has been jailed for not paying taxes. The company winds up and the hardworking man ends on the street. He put in his life in the company – now his pension has gone and he is an old man with no chance getting another job. Lots of people try to be become movie stars end up they are too ugly, their voice is terrible and they just simply stupid – it is all matter of being bad luck. Others regardless of how they look get great part in some movie and end up acting in a film which makes lots of money. A good luck also accounts for the fact that some people can get away with mass murder and never be held accountable for their crimes and some one get just kill one person and be jailed for life ...

Mysterious kidnappings

Young students in their twenties are being kidnapped from Karachi and other cities. Though reports about these are kept secret, but with the frequency they are taking place, there is bound to be a leak  and people eventually get to know about this. But the question is who responsible and why is it happening. There are no clear answers. But the people who get away by committing such crimes are obviously are very highly placed, they are virtually above the law. No one can arrest them, even though the evidence is overwhelmingly against them. This is a new way to terrorise the people, it simply boils down to this. If the police and other law enforcement organisations are unable to prevent crime, the people would be forced to take up arms against those who murder, kidnap and steal. Whatever the reasons for the kidnapping, is irrelevant, the people protecting the kidnappers will face the wrath of the people. No court, no judge is going to prosecute these criminals. There is a limit t...
