Everyone who is doing a job does so because he (or she) is unable to do any kind of business. Everyone who is doing business is either fortunate to have inherited it, or started it. But the problem is that businessmen and workers are members of the state - so under the laws of the state - both enjoy rights and previleges.
It cannot be that all the businessmen should have all the rights and previleges and benefits and the workers should have none. A businessmen have to employ but the right to fire anyone on a whim should never exist. All workers have the right to put in a specific number of hours and be paid for them. The example of a venal form of capitalism is that of a chief accountant of a company who sorted out the accounts of his employer. He worked round the clock, even worked on weekends, did not take a single leave. The day he made his presentation of the work he had done before the management. He was congratulated for the great work he had done. No sooner was the chief accountant left the conference room, his boss' secretary hands him a letter, telling him he has been fired.
This hardworking person realised all his effort and his dedication to his job was nothing but royal waste of time. He and thousands exactly like him, who had suffered in the same way - ceased to have the incentive to work as they did. In the long run the companies suffer, because they have highly qualified people who are completely indifferent about the work they have been given - they take their time, take long breaks, never meet deadlines - because he knows it makes no difference one way or another. He knows to be completely honest with ones job is not appreciated, why bother working hard with dedication, when the owner of he company does not value the person who has done the work.
There should be a certain tax which assesses a company on its employment record - does it pay good salaries- does it fire people in hordes - does it reward people for hard work - does it allow unions to operate - does it give additional benefits to employees like cars and free petrol - does ensure 100 per cent job security - does provide complete medical cover to the employee and his dependants - does it have a pension plan.
Doing business does not absolve the businessman from his social resposibilities. If the governentn is going to pay social security, why should it have to this burden. Large corporations will have to share this burden. Businesses exist within the state not outside it - they cannot consider themselves seperate from the state. Enjoy low taxes, fire as many people they like without consideration to the fact that some people become homeless and are without any benefits.
Lots of people are fired years before they are retired by the organisation and company and paid pensions. there has to be minimum wage, there has be absolute job secuity and there should absolute assurance of promotion and additional benefits for a job well done - not being thrown out.
