Bad laws

Bad laws increase corruption, because they are impossible to enforce. Take the law against serving meals in wedding ceremonies - no matter how well intentioned this law is, the rich and powerful easily whenever they like. Serving meals in wedding ceremonies is a time honoured tradition - if the place where the wedding has taken place a banquet hall for instance and meals are not served there, then the alternative is to hold a seperate party discretely with caterers waiting to serve the gues.
Perhaps the worst law was banning of liquor. Those who were in a habit at least one glass of their favourite drink every evening, where denied that. The ban on liquor forced many people to become heroin addicts and thus ruining their lives. Those who could afford to have smuggled liquor at exorbitant rates were also in a position to bribe officials just by giving them best wine or any other liquor. When people go to parties where liquor is served, they drink as if they will never get any afterwards.
If this stupid law of banning liquor was removed and it was available without too many taxes and ridiculous restrictions, perhaps drug addiction will cease. People say that they War Afghanistan turned people into drug addicts, that was not the case it was foolish banning on the sale of liquor which was the real cause. The tax on liquor was reasonable and almost everyone could afford it. The government was earning a great deal from the sale of liquor. Drinking was treated as perfectly normal.
It is illegal to for restaurants and food outlets to be open in Ramzan - because people are supposedly fasting. Fasting is a religious ritual not a legal requirement. The people in the food and catering business are affected by this law. It also affects daily wage labourers, who need nourishment while working, it also massively dicriminates against people belonging to other religions who are not required to fast. Why should such people be treated as if they are criminals if they are found eating and drinking during day time. This is an terribly stupid law and should trashed immediately.
Every new year, surprising the Christian New Year is celebrated, but the law says all hotels shold be closed. There should be no discos. Having a good time is a crime on New Year is not entirely against the law but it is not approved of. The fact that young people should enjoy themselves by dancing and singing be treated some sort of aberration is downright evil.
Many cars come with tinted windshields because for protection against sunlight, but such cars are not allowed - because it is assumed that people in tinted glass cars are crooks or are having sex while driving, how ridiculous! Even if they are having sex when not driving, then so what, whose business is it? The Christian New Year is celebrated because the Muslim new year in Pakistan instead of being a day of celebration and joy, is observed with mourning because the Shia sect in the first 10 days of mourning due to religious reasons. There is no entertainment on TV and radio. Just because the Shia have their way doing thing, does not necessarily mean that the Sunnis and members of other sects should do the same. They should be rejoicing. Let Shias mourn as much as they want, but their system of beliefs should not be enforced on the country. the first of Muharram should be celebrated like Eid after all it is the Muslim new year.
The laws against adultery and fornication are equally stupid and meaningless. Such things come in the category of sin - if such things are done in private and no one knows about it - how will the perpetrators be caught? Homosexuality continues to be treated as a crime.
The law against attempted suicide. A person who has attempted suicide is extremely depressed or is suffering from some mental disease, such a person should be put in the care of doctors not imprisoned.
When will these inane laws done away with?

The blessed and the cursed

The only way to get a really grand job is to be in the right place at the right time. Hardwork, talent, ability and intelligence means nothing. All that you learnt at you university or college is worthless. Consider a man working his butt off for years in a company, suddenly finds out the companies boss has been jailed for not paying taxes. The company winds up and the hardworking man ends on the street. He put in his life in the company – now his pension has gone and he is an old man with no chance getting another job. Lots of people try to be become movie stars end up they are too ugly, their voice is terrible and they just simply stupid – it is all matter of being bad luck. Others regardless of how they look get great part in some movie and end up acting in a film which makes lots of money. A good luck also accounts for the fact that some people can get away with mass murder and never be held accountable for their crimes and some one get just kill one person and be jailed for life

Mysterious kidnappings

Young students in their twenties are being kidnapped from Karachi and other cities. Though reports about these are kept secret, but with the frequency they are taking place, there is bound to be a leak  and people eventually get to know about this. But the question is who responsible and why is it happening. There are no clear answers. But the people who get away by committing such crimes are obviously are very highly placed, they are virtually above the law. No one can arrest them, even though the evidence is overwhelmingly against them. This is a new way to terrorise the people, it simply boils down to this. If the police and other law enforcement organisations are unable to prevent crime, the people would be forced to take up arms against those who murder, kidnap and steal. Whatever the reasons for the kidnapping, is irrelevant, the people protecting the kidnappers will face the wrath of the people. No court, no judge is going to prosecute these criminals. There is a limit to su

Dr Salman Shah is insane

The price of petrol has been increased 7 times and the country's Finance Adviser says it will not affect the economy. I do not know about the economy but I am paying more and more for petrol and my salary has not increased, it is not enough one day petrol will eventually become as expensive as gold or more. Its people like Dr. Salman Shah who do not announce anything during the budget announcement, later start telling the people that everything is going to be more expensive later at the same time say it will not make any difference to the economy. Dr. Salman Shah says this because he does not have to pay for the petrol of his limousine - it is free for him Why should he not drive around in his limousine and pay for petrol from his own pocket instead on relying on the government. The day he starts doing that he will realise what he has done, he will scream. The price of petrol is high because it has 300 per cent taxes on it. If those taxes are removed the petrol would be m
