Zardari's quest for absolute power

The National Reconciliation Ordinance (N.R.O) is intended give more power to President Zaradari. He will use his executive powers at whim, and will not need the approval of the parliament for any decision be it right or wrong. There would be no debate in the parliament, the president's decision would be final. In short he wants to become a dictator.
The elections which were conducted were sham. No one elected anyone, the results were announced, no one knows if they were genuine or not. Zardari made himself president and Gilani is prime minister because Zardari wanted him to be. Much of the parliament is filled with religious clerics (Mullahs) who have no concept of democracy. They can only preach not make a sensible speech. Had there been honest elections, the Mullahs would not be seen in the parliament. No one cares about religion. People want jobs, they want incomes which can match the ever increasing prices of virtually everything.
The country is run by charlatans, completely corrupt people, frauds; wheelers and dealers. Everyone has a suitcase ready, in case the tide turns they can escape Pakistan. But Pakistan is no longer in no mood to forgive. These people will be hunted down wherever they are in the world, captured and put on trial, for all the horrible things they have done.
At point Pakistan may have felt powerless, but no more. These people will have to pay and pay they must. These moves by Zardari to become a dictator should be stopped and no one should ever be allowed to rule the country by decree.
Democracy should be everywhere. Every city, town and village. In every Division and sub-division and in every district and sub-district. Civil servants and the military will have to withdraw from everything.
One wonders why is it that those who grab power would be able to survive in their position. Some have had horrible ends and many people who held key positions were also destroyed. It would be best the existing government resigns and should new elections. The elections should be honest. The original 1973 Constitution should be accepted without the amendments which were made later.

The blessed and the cursed

The only way to get a really grand job is to be in the right place at the right time. Hardwork, talent, ability and intelligence means nothing. All that you learnt at you university or college is worthless. Consider a man working his butt off for years in a company, suddenly finds out the companies boss has been jailed for not paying taxes. The company winds up and the hardworking man ends on the street. He put in his life in the company – now his pension has gone and he is an old man with no chance getting another job. Lots of people try to be become movie stars end up they are too ugly, their voice is terrible and they just simply stupid – it is all matter of being bad luck. Others regardless of how they look get great part in some movie and end up acting in a film which makes lots of money. A good luck also accounts for the fact that some people can get away with mass murder and never be held accountable for their crimes and some one get just kill one person and be jailed for life ...

Dr Salman Shah is insane

The price of petrol has been increased 7 times and the country's Finance Adviser says it will not affect the economy. I do not know about the economy but I am paying more and more for petrol and my salary has not increased, it is not enough one day petrol will eventually become as expensive as gold or more. Its people like Dr. Salman Shah who do not announce anything during the budget announcement, later start telling the people that everything is going to be more expensive later at the same time say it will not make any difference to the economy. Dr. Salman Shah says this because he does not have to pay for the petrol of his limousine - it is free for him Why should he not drive around in his limousine and pay for petrol from his own pocket instead on relying on the government. The day he starts doing that he will realise what he has done, he will scream. The price of petrol is high because it has 300 per cent taxes on it. If those taxes are removed the petrol would be m...

Mysterious kidnappings

Young students in their twenties are being kidnapped from Karachi and other cities. Though reports about these are kept secret, but with the frequency they are taking place, there is bound to be a leak  and people eventually get to know about this. But the question is who responsible and why is it happening. There are no clear answers. But the people who get away by committing such crimes are obviously are very highly placed, they are virtually above the law. No one can arrest them, even though the evidence is overwhelmingly against them. This is a new way to terrorise the people, it simply boils down to this. If the police and other law enforcement organisations are unable to prevent crime, the people would be forced to take up arms against those who murder, kidnap and steal. Whatever the reasons for the kidnapping, is irrelevant, the people protecting the kidnappers will face the wrath of the people. No court, no judge is going to prosecute these criminals. There is a limit t...
