It is very curious that international newspapers, magazines and other publications are not allowed in Pakistan. If Pakistan international banks, multinational companies in most businesses are allowed , why is foreign investment not welcome in the media business? When foreign investment sought - that such investment would increase employment opportunities and bring in much needed foreign exchange. But when it comes to the media the government does not say anything. Compared to Pakistan, India has allowed international investment in the media which. Foreign advertising agencies are not allowed to operate. There is no clear explanation as why this is the case.
Just as foreign investment in other fields improves the income of different professionals in other fields as compared to local companies which prefer not to pay anything at all or no rules of management or anything resembling a modern business; foreign investments bring some order where there is absolute chaos.
Journalists would have better opportunities in foreign newspapers, they would paid many times more than what local media owners pay. There more perks and benefits for journalists. It would be an international world view. The same people can posted anywhere in the world where these newspapers and publications are printed. It is imperative that this should be allowed. The state should change its policy about restricting foreign media. One of the things which would definitely happens is that local media owners would have to change they way they do things. They will to operate on 21st standards not 19th century standards.
The local media is complete corrupt and incapable of changing things for the better.
