Private army reason to kill

The military dictator General Musharraf said that there can be no political solution with some one who has a private army - therefore such a person has to be killed. What the dictator conveniently failed to mention that there others who have private armies- Pir Pagara, who has the Hurs an army which matches the army Bugti had . Al the tribal chiefs have their own armies including te feudal lords. Never trust a soldier to do job of a poltician. The decision which the present military dictator made was a disaster and all decisions made by all the previous military dictators have been disasters. General Ayub Khan alienated the people of East Pakistan and General Yahya Khan ensured the transformation of East Pakistan into a seperate country - Bangladesh. Zia-ul-Haq got involved in the war in Afghanistan against the former Soviet Union. In order to achieve that goal, Pakistan had to be transformed into a fanatical theocratic state this destroyed the mindset of an entire generation,

Minister takes off early

Just a few days back a minister in the military dicator General Musharraf, flew off to Islamabad earlier than the scheduled time, threatening the PIA chairman if he did not. The passengers who were about to board the plane or had arrived at the airport, found the plane already gone. All the passengers flew in rage, but PIA did not regret its complete indiffirence to its passengers This has become a regular feature of the existing government. Ambulances have right of way in every country except in Pakistan. To date up to a 100 people have died in ambulances, because the police stalled the movement of traffic, just because someone in the government is go by that road in a lavish motorcade, with cops on motorcycles and whole range of vehicles. This is of course extremely criminal and also idiotic - it would be safer for these leaders to travel anonymously without attracting any attention to themselves in a such a manner that eventually they put their own security at risk. Who is go

President's Earthquake Relief Fund scam

The military dictator General Musharraf used the earthquake tragedy to start one of the biggest scam in the history of the country. He had his people announce a President's Earthquake Relief Fund and had every bank open an account for this fund. Instead of benefitting those who suffered tremendously from the earthquake, the money was raked in by dictator and the members of his junta. Those who were fooled by this deposited money into this bank account. The people who lost their homes and their livlihood are still living in tents, no new buildings have been constucted. No roads have been built. Kashmir is a terrible mess and the military dictatorship is completely unable to do anything about providing relief to the affected people. Rather it has no intentions to do so. The only relief these people receive are from private donations. The amount of corruption is boundless, General Musharraf has to be held accountable for every act of treason he has committed.

Selling islands may be just the beginning

Poor fishermen are protesting on the planned sale of two islands to Duba. The military dictatorship is committing one act of treason after another. While they are at it, they may as well sell the entire country along with its sovereignty. There is no limit to the greed of the military officers. When they can kill 80 people without making any attempt to arrest them and putting them on tria is just an example how much the people in the army hate the people of Pakistan whom they are supposed to protect. Things have become so bad that the police regularly kills people claiming they have killed was a criminal. The newspapers print the police manifest faithfully, never questioning whether the police was within its legal rights to do so. The people who have been killedvery well be innocent but no one questions the police. The job of the police is to arrest alleged criminals and bring them to cour. It is common knowledge that the police is actually committing politcally motivated murd

Misuse of military power

No doubt the country is under martial law - but the fact that our military goes ahead without thinking twice as to the consequences of its actions, particularly when they go around attacking different parts of the country on the basis of 'reliable intelligence' The latest incident was bombing a seminary. Instead of martial law, if there was a government elected by the people, restrained would have been ordered and the military would have to take into consideration the politcal backlash. The country is not for the military it is for the people of Pakistan and the military represents is simply a tiny fraction of the entire populace. For all intents and purposes it seems that the military can only hold onto power by starting a sort of civil war. This would ensure continued military rule, because to prevent the state of anarchy the country has fallen in. All the military officers are robbing this country like all those before them. Running off abroad with the loot they hav

Karzai president of Kabul

Karzai iand his government are a puppet regime. They do not know anything about the country they are supposedly are ruling. Some kind of government has to exist. The war is being fought by NATO forces, not the Afghan army, because it does not exist. Karzai blames Pakistan for troubles in Afghanistan. Karzai does not belong to any institution in Afghanistan he is an oil company executive given a dubious political post. He cannot possbily have an independent clue as to what is really going on in Afghanistan because he knows only what he is told by the foreign forces. The truth no one knows what is going on, because the Taliban are putting up a fierce fight. As in all wars enemies do not count their own dead and wounded, they only exagerrate how many the other has lost. So one cannot truly say how the conflict in Afghanistan is really going. In five years to say that foreign forces casualties are just a few thousand is completely absurd. A country which has fought a world power an

Businessmen without foresight

Large businesses are run by the state. Smaller ones are privately owned. The privately owned have problems in their way conducting their affairs. Shopkeepers for instance will not have ready change, they will not have all the items one requires so customers have to go from one shop after another to purchase the things they need, instead of being able to buy everything they need from the one shop. Particularly in the case of general stores, the one which is successful is the one which is well supplied, provides discounts - particularly to regular customers and always has the right change. This ensures customer loyalty. A number of mobile service companies have opened in the past number of years - it has taken them some time to improve their standard of service. But even the improvement is still below international standards. For instance if someone is regular subscriber and has always paid his bills over several years - that subscriber is treated in the same way as someone who i
